Building a Headspace

Welcome! So you want to build a headspace? Here's your place!Note that this guide is meant for plural systems (or anything similar) but singlets can also use this guide too! Singlets can have headspaces.

Familiar Locations

Maybe to start with, you should start with a familiar location, such as your home, a previous home, or a location that means something to you.Maybe have pictures of it for reference and to help with visualizing, but that isn't a requirement.

Games

A good way to build a headspace is to play games! Games like Minecraft and Terraria are good places to start.Video games are a special interest of ours, so we will probably ramble on about this. But detail is always nice, isn't it?Minecraft
Minecraft is a 3D game that has a couple of modes for you to pick; Creative Mode should be what you pick, unless you want a challenge, then you can choose Survival Mode. (Preferably not in Hardcore Mode, since if you die, the world would be deleted)
Creative lets you use any block to create anything you can think of while Survival is a game about surviving (duh), and you have to mine resources and try to survive monsters. We think Minecraft is one of the best choices just for the ability to see things in first-person.Terraria
In Terraria, which looks like a 2D Minecraft, it's a little tougher to create things for fun. Sure, there is Journey Mode, but you would have to still play the game normally.
UNLESS you cheat and use a world that has all the items you need! For that, you can use an all items world to gather items.
Classic Mode All Items World
Journey Mode All Items World
(Both are for the Steam version of Terraria)
For actually playing Terraria, which can take a long while and is full of grinding, you should look up guides on a walkthrough, classes guide, how to create farms, etc. I trust that you will learn as you go. Good luck! The Sims
The Sims is a classic building game, not just a game where you control the lives of people. They need homes to stay in, after all!
The games have really good in-depth systems for creating houses! You can build about anything if you know your stuff. Is money an issue for you? Just use the Motherlode cheat (or other similar cheats, usually differing per game) to get some money to build with! Or you can edit your town and build without any money required (but to live in it in-game, your sims will have to still buy them). Each Sims game is different. But we recommend The Sims 4 as it is free on Origin and Steam and has updated features, but we also suggest looking into the other games in the series to see which one you prefer. OR if you have a preferred game from playing them, feel free to go for that one instead!Webkinz
Webkinz is still a thing! Remember that? We of Forestwalk play it still!
In Webkinz (both versions, but we will be focusing on Classic), you can decorate rooms for your pets! You can buy furniture from the W-Shop and other in-game stores, trade for them, or earn them through other ways (Wheel Of Wow/other wheels, quest rewards, etc). You can use these rooms to create rooms for your system too!The downside is that you have to pay to be able to do some things in the game. Paying for a pet (which can be digital only or come with a plushie) can unlock some things, but to unlock it all, you need Deluxe Membership.

Other Visual Builders

These are some free programs to let you create your headspace. We aren't so familiar with these, so the descriptions aren't as in-depth as the games section. If you can write a longer description since you've used the program, feel free to bring this up to us in our server (linked in the Contact section).Homestyler is a program that allows you to make floorplans and be able to model and render your rooms.Inkarnate is a program that lets you create maps. From world maps, to region maps, to battle maps, to interior maps.

Moodboards

Another method is gathering images and making a moodboard. Which can look like about anything you want. Just gather images and throw them together on an image. You can find these images on Pinterest, free stock image sites (such as Unsplash), or even Tumblr aesthetic blogs. You can also just make a Pinterest board full of images you think would work for your headspace.
